A report on delayed discharges
On average, 27 per cent of people who are declared medically fit for discharge remain in hospital. This was reported by Newton Europe, who were commissioned by the Better Care Support Programme to look into delayed discharges and their impact on lives and system finances.

The activity and outputs from the Improving Care Sector Engagement programme are now published. The programme run by Care Provider Alliance covered contingency planning; engagement and local commissioning as well as new ways of working in adult social care services.

The LGA in collaboration with NHS Digital is grant funding digital innovation in social care, with projects ranging from new assistive technology to data analytics to predict demand.

NHS Budget Survey –closing date 14 May
NHS England has commissioned Quality Health to run a survey to gather feedback about people’s experiences of personal health budgets and integrated personal budgets. It is open to all current or previous budget holders and those who support them. The findings will be used to improve the support for budget holders and applicants in England. Take part before 14 May.

New advance care planning quick guide
Advance care planning enables people to plan their future care and support, including medical treatment, while they have the capacity to do so. This new quick guide from NICE and SCIE helps managers of care services to support people to prepare.

The portal is free to access by anyone who can positively impact public health and wellbeing. It offers education, training and professional development resources, to help deliver improvements in public health and prevention.

Disability Rights UK developed a project, Get Yourself Active which helped to change this.
