TLAP arrangements

The TLAP Programme Board met to review how it should plan for the future.

The Board is as committed as ever to TLAP's guiding principles and work programme. However, because of the need to ensure TLAP’s sustainability in a tough financial climate the Board has decided that it cannot continue to have a director for TLAP after Lynda Tarpley’s contract expires on 9 December 2016.

TLAP will continue and it will remain an independent partnership, directed by the TLAP Programme Board.

The Director’s responsibilities will be split. SCIE, who currently host the Partnership and provide back-office support, will provide additional support, including line-management of the existing TLAP team.

The Programme Board is reviewing the role of Programme Board chair. This role could be revised to take on more direct responsibilities such as TLAP spokesperson and ambassador. Details will be discussed with the National Co-production Advisory Group. A range of options and processes, such as recruitment to this potentially revised chair role, will be discussed at the next Programme Board in late October.

Kathy Roberts, chair of TLAP Programme Board says:

“The TLAP Programme Board is committed to ensuring that TLAP remains sustainable and independent. But like everyone else in the sector, we need to adapt to a challenging environment. We believe that the changes we are introducing will enable the TLAP principles and programme to thrive. It’s been a difficult decision and we are very grateful to Lynda Tarpey for her contribution to the Partnership and wish her well for the future.”
