Personalising every encounter from the ground up
“If personalisation feels faceless almost like a box ticking exercise, it is not worthy of the name and the values that underpin the social model of disability, the care act and the move to responding to what really matters to people. The Asset-based area
“A number of people asked why not also have an asset-based NHS, which of course I entirely agree with. It would really only be asset-based if it was the whole area and not just one body within an area, but I think that all of those points would apply to the asset-based CCG or NHS Trust.”
CEO of Shared Lives Plus, TLAP board member and chair of the building community capacity work programme, Alex Fox has written a blog on the asset based area (or council, CCG, NHS Trust, Health and Wellbeing Board, New Care Model….).

The report also showed what needs to improve. Amongst the recommendations was a call to councils, Local Government Association (LGA) and the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) to review their systems for monitoring progress in implementing the Act; as well as further investment and training for social workers and assessors.
