Hi,

Has social care passed its sell by date?

"With new approaches to transforming social care and growing evidence of innovative practice I believe we are right in saying that social care, as it currently stands for the majority of people, has passed its sell by date".

TLAP chair Clenton Farquharson’s latest blog is a response to some of the challenges in social care as discussed at the ADASS Spring Seminar.

The Care We Want

"In 1995 a social worker changed my life.  This is particularly remarkable when you consider that I refused to let her inside my front door for several weeks!"

Read Clenton's speech to delegates at the seminar in which he paid tribute to the person-centred approach of his social worker and made a plea for delegates to remember their moral and legal duty to put people’s wellbeing front and centre.

Focussing on the possibilities

Co-production and the art of conversation

TLAP’s co-production advisor Cat Duncan-Rees says that there are some social care professionals who think co-production is out of the ordinary.  Cat says, “It doesn’t need a magic formula. It’s really about relationships, values and conversations” What do you think? Listen to the podcast (8 min).

Building Community Capacity: Economic Case Studies
