Independent Age report on experience of older age

Assumptions about life for the over 65s has been challenged in a new report. In Focus- experience of older age in England by Independent Age looks at reality for people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) groups; people on low incomes; those without children and other aspects.

Briefing paper on the impact of Covid-19 on the VCSE mental health provider sector.

Association of Mental Health Providers has looked at the challenges voluntary, community & social enterprise providers are facing during the pandemic and identified 9 areas that need urgent government attention.

In Control webinars for people and families

In Control have shared practical webinars that address concerns for people with lived experience. Examples include direct payments, and changes to the benefits  system, from Universal Credit, Statutory Sick Pay, and Personal Independence Payment.

Community Circles and Social Care Future  asked people what they most need to stay connected. Unsurprisingly the feedback is wi-fi-connection, access to tablets and smart phones and help to use these gadgets. They've been inspired by Scottish Care's scheme to address these issues head on. 

Royal College of Occupational Therapists – survey Deadline 20th May

You can help the RCOT find out what pressing research questions that OTs, people and carers who use their services want answering. They are particularly interested to hear if you use occupational therapy and from your carers and family.
