What we will do to Make it Real

We will make sure that people's lived experience is part of the expertise we include in guidelines and quality standards.

We worked with TLAP to involve people with lived experience in a medicines support campaign with other partners. Their valuable experiences shaped key communication messages in the campaign.

We have already included Making it Real in our Person-centred future planning quick guide.https://www.nice.org.uk/about/nice-communities/social-care/quick-guides/person-centred-future-planning

We also used the ‘I’ statements to inform the development of: ‘People’s experience in adult social care services: improving the experience of care and support for people using adult social care services’.

We will continue to consider ‘I’ and ‘we’ statements when developing other relevant guidance.

How we will co-produce and with whom

Training and support is offered to people with lived experience so they can be fully involved in making decisions and developing guidance.

We will seek bespoke support from our colleagues in the Public Involvement Programme (PIP) if people need it such as practical support, access needs and a named contact.
