Thurrock Council
What our organisation does to support people with care and support needs:
Thurrock council provides a wide range of care and support services. These include homecare, residential and nursing care, assessment and care management, legal and safeguarding support and advocacy. We also provide day care services to older people and, in partnership with our health colleagues, a range of joint services such as a Rapid Response service, single point of contact for ASC, health and mental Health and a joint re-basement team. All of these services are currently being reviewed as part of our system wide transformation programme.

What we will do to Make it Real
We are currently co-designing a whole system programme that will provide a strengths based approach to our citizens, aimed at fundamentally changing the locus of power away from professionals and organisations and towards citizens and communities. The ethos is to deliver solutions to people much closer to home than is currently the case. To enable this we will need to reflect the great diversity there is within and across our communities , which will require developing new approaches to co-design and production. We will use MIR to assist us in achieving this.
How we will co-produce and with whom
