Project description

Hertfordshire Care Providers in collaboration with Hertfordshire County Council have created a dedicated information and support hub for adult social care providers during Covid-19.

What was your response to Covid-19?

The Covid-19 situation is rapidly changing so Hertfordshire have collated all the important guidance in one place for anyone to read to ensure providers and staff are well informed and supported during the pandemic.

What was different about this approach?

This is a new hub to help Hertfordshire feel confident that all care providers are following strict guidance to protect themselves and the people they care for.  The hub includes the latest information about:

  • Training and development
  • Equipment and PPE
  • Food resources
  • Key staff ID cards
  • Easy read resources
  • Recruitment and Volunteers
  • Staff wellbeing
  • Exercise wellbeing
  • Business support
  • Cleaning guidance
  • FAQ’s
  • And includes fact sheets and posters for use

What is the impact and benefit for people?

Care providers have told us that the helpdesk has been invaluable in helping to digest guidance from numerous public bodies and presenting them in a daily email for busy care providers.

It has also ensured  that government grant monies have flowed out to providers as planned, including businesses representing 96% of care beds in Hertfordshire who claimed  their first instalment of the Infection Control Fund within one month.

Is the solution sustainable post Covid-19?

The Council is now considering keeping the telephone number and website open as a single one-stop-shop for care providers for any council or NHS-related issues. These would including payments, care planning, care charging, emergencies, commissioner enquiries and NHS input.
