Responding to the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services’ budget survey 2017, Acting Head, Caroline Speirs, said:

"The Think Local Act Personal partnership is concerned with the continued need for councils to make gruelling decisions and further cuts to adult social care when the sector has already been subjected to unprecedented financial constraints.

"The Partnership remains committed to ensuring personalised care and support is not hampered by financial constraints and that people with lived experience continue to influence policy and practice.

"However, it is clear that a sensible and sustainable approach to funding must  now be developed to ensure  we are able to meet not only the ever growing demand for critical care and support but to also fulfil Care Act requirements around wellbeing, prevention and early intervention.

"The Partnership stands ready to support the Government in its forthcoming consultation on social care".
