TLAP held a roadshow on the theme of moving forward with personalisation for colleages in the South West ADASS region. It focused on practical tried and tested approaches to implementing personalisation in a challenging financial environment.

There was a large selection of social workers rather than providers who gathered, compared to our South West Regional Roadshow.

Speakers included Matt Bowsher, Chief Officer, Adult Social Care, Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council who encouraged participants to keep championing the case for person-centred provision despite  the financial cuts and all thier associated challenges.

Paul Richards, director of  grass-roots charity Stay Up late, and his volunteers gave a talk on building community capacity when you keep it punk! Paul's charity Stay Up late runs a scheme of 'gig buddies' - volunteers with a passion for music who pair up with person with a learning disability  and accompany them to late night gigs.  It was moving, inspirational and very, very entertaining.
