Ladder of co-production

Added on

The ladder of co-production describes a series of steps towards full co-production in health and social care. It supports greater understanding of the various steps such as access, inclusion and consultation.

It was developed by the National Co-production Advisory Group, drawing inspiration from the original idea of Arnstein SR in a ladder of citizen participation (Journal of the American Institute of planners. 1969 Jul 1;35(4):216-24).

We encourage you to download the ladder of co-production resources and use them in your work. You do not need to contact us for permission to do so but we ask that you reference Think Local Act Personal and the National Co-production Advisory Group and include a link to thinklocalactpersonal.org.uk (opens new window) wherever possible. This not only supports our mission but allows others to explore additional resources.
