Can you help? New Care Act survey with a difference
One year on from the implementation of the Care Act 2014, TLAP wants to hear about the experiences of people with care and support needs to find out what difference the Act is making.
The survey will be launched in early September for one month. We will need as much help as possible to make sure we have a good response rate. Can you help?
Would you be able to help promote the survey via your website, e-newsletter, social media, word of mouth. We are also looking for opportunities where groups of people could be supported face to face to complete the survey.

Spotlight on TLAP partner - College of Occupational Therapists
On the cusp of its centenary, TLAP partner the College of Occupational Therapists has launched a new two year campaign.
Occupational Therapists (OT) have long been at the forefront of personalised, integrated services, and the college’s current campaign, Improving Lives and Saving Money shows the extent to which this expertise is supporting sector sustainability.

Lay representatives vacancies –College of Occupational Therapists, Practice Publications Group
The College is looking for two lay representatives for its Practice Publications Group. The group meets three times a year in London and the role of the lay representatives is to input public facing documents produced by the College. The other members of the group are occupational therapists. Detailed information is shown in the attached documents which include information on how to apply. The deadline for applications is 19 August 2016.

Skills for Care Accolades awards
The Skills for Care Accolades recognises the great work you do in adult social care.
If you provide a high quality service and invest in your staff you can enter now. The awards are open to adult social care organisations of all sizes and individual employers in England. The closing date for entries is Friday 23 September 2016.

National Voices’ Wellbeing Our Way programme has launched the WOW! Exchange
The WOW exchange is an online catalogue of exciting and innovative practice in health and care.
Health and care charities deliver some exciting projects, and the WOW! Exchange is a space to share that practice, exchange ideas, and to enable learning. The work listed on the site includes projects by charities and community organisations, and between public services and their voluntary-sector partners.

Institute for Government research project
Last year the Institute for Government began a major research project on public service delivery at a local level in England. The first phase of work looked at joining up and integrating public services around local citizen needs.
- A short paper examines what would help people involved in integrating public services locally to share experiences and learn from one another to improve outcomes on the ground.
- Eight case studies provide more detail about the methods and impact of different approaches designed to support learning around local public service reform more generally.
- A blog summarises the key findings of this work

It’s been less than two weeks that we heard the shocking news of Harold Bodmer’s untimely death. Tributes were paid by representatives from the health and social care sector for Harold’s tremendous work and dedication to his profession.
In our board meeting this week, which Harold would ordinarily have chaired, Martin Yates, our co-production member and co-chair of TLAP, paid the following touching tribute.
“I think we all found Harold to be a very caring man who really believed in personalisation and co-production. I personally found Harold really supportive. He always ensured that I was given the time I needed to get my words out. He seemed to keep his eyes open for when I wanted to speak. I will miss him and my thoughts and wishes go out to his family.“
