Valuing People Now

The Valuing People Now programme ran for ten years setting out a vision and active steps for improving opportunities and services for people with learning disabilities and family carers. A large programme of support has been undertaken to support localities, overseen during the last two years by a very active Regional Partnership Board. The programme has supported leadership and partnership work in order to promote effective commissioning and delivery and workforce training. The participation of people with learning disabilities and family carers has been central to the change process.

Valuing People Now is the Coalition Government's strategy for learning disability. Documents, videos and other useful links for Valuing People Now can be found at http://www.valuingpeoplenow.dh.gov.uk. These web-pages hold substantial resources on all Valuing People Now priorities.
