Carers Strategy Demonstrator Sites in the East Midlands

In 2009 the Department of Health invited proposals for national Carers' Demonstrator sites to support implementation of the national Carers Strategy. In the context of recognising that supporting carers is everybody's business, projects were sought that would undertake work on the following:

• more effective (and cost-effective) ways of delivering breaks to carers
• health and well-being checks for carers
• better ways for the NHS to support carers

Three sites were selected from the East Midlands.

All projects are underway and evaluations are due to be completed in 2011. Presentations from the 3 sites are available below and give further information on each project.
