This workstream was established to support the development and engagement of ULOs within each local authority area by 2010. Initial consultancy support was procured to map current progress and identify support needs of ULOs and NCIL were engaged to provide some dedicated support to each authority and ULO in the region to assist them with reaching this important milestone.
The ULOs in the East Midlands are:
- Derbyshire Coalition for Inclusive Living
- Disability Direct Derby
- Leicestershire Centre for Integrated Living
- The Northamptonshire Centre for Independent Living
- Disability Nottinghamshire
- Disability Direct Nottingham
- Lincolnshire ULO
The National Skills Academy for Social Care commissioned Spirit Research & Evaluation Ltd to identify and publish case studies which illustrate good practice in ULO commissioning. The report, User Led Organisations and Commissioning: 18 Good Practice Learning Resources (opens new window), can be accessed here and has examples from Northamptonshire and Disability Direct Derby.
