Developing Social Care e-markets

This capital funded project aims to stimulate local care and support markets, promoting a diverse range of providers of both traditional and non traditional personalised support. It includes exploration of web based platforms on which providers can advertise and from which individuals can purchase services.

Local Authorities were invited to bid for RIEP capital funding that both achieved the above and also delivered cashable savings. Funding was allocated to three projects that are currently underway:

Leicestershire County Council and Leicester City Council are undertaking a joint procurement and implementation of an e-market place solution
