Government restates expectations for Putting People First

The circular also announces the grants which councils will get in 2010-11 to help them implement Putting People First. There will be a ring-fenced revenue grant (in total £237 million) of around double the amount provided in 2009-10, plus a £30 million capital grant . The capital grant can be used by councils to improve IT systems to make them suitable for personal budgets. There is also further money for the development of extra care housing.
