Up Close and Personal event in Birmingham

There are still barriers for people with mental health to access personalised support. As a way of combatting these barriers, we hosted "Up close and personal": How mental health services can work together to provide person-centred support, on 19 May at Birmingham City Football Club.

The day was put together in partnership with the National Development Team for Inclusion (NTDi) and Implementing Recovery through Organisational Change (ImROC) in order to address the barriers to personalised services that still exist for people with mental ill-health.

Featured talks came from national leads Stephen Chandler Chair of ADASS Mental Health Network and Clenton Farquharson of the National Co-production Advisory Group, amongst others. There were also four different workshops, networking opportunities and some nice sandwiches.

We would like to say a big thanks everyone who was in attendance and those who gave presentations and led workshops. The day was a great success and we felt like we made some real progress highlighting the issues faced when delivering person centred care in a mental health environment.

We have all the presentations now available as downloadable PDF's in resource section.
