New TLAP Programme Director

Lynda Tarpey has been appointed the new Programme Director for Think Local Act Personal (TLAP) - the sector-wide partnership taking forward work on personalising care and support. Lynda, who is currently the Director at Hasca Ltd and founding Director at the London Care and Support Forum will join TLAP before the end of the year.

Martin Yates, TLAP Co-chair said: "We are looking forward to working with Lynda, who has shown real energy and passion for delivering personalisation over recent years. Her dedication is clearly evident from her work in health and social care at local and regional level, with a very clear commitment to co-production which is of course at the heart of TLAP'S work".

Sheila Scott, TLAP Programme Board Co-chair said: "It is great that we have appointed someone with the breadth of experience across the sector that Lynda Tarpey demonstrates to help TLAP move forward in its development. I am very much looking forward to working with Lynda in the future".

Lynda said: "I am delighted to take up the role as TLAP Director. I believe the objectives of the partnership are fundamental to underpinning quality and effective services and look forward to leading its work to drive forward the vision of personalisation and community-based support".

  • Lynda's professional background started in frontline delivery of health and social care services and has moved through senior and strategic management positions. This gives her a fairly unique position of understanding and expertise in all three parts of the health and social care sector, local authority, health commissioning and service provider organisations.

As Director at Hasca Ltd, Lynda Tarpey has had experience of consultancy, training and business management within public, private, strategic and government departments. She has project managed delivery of Care Act implementation training at local authority level, and co-delivered training on user experience and personalisation with colleagues with learning disabilities.

She was a co-founder of the London Care and Support Forum which brings together statutory, private and voluntary sector organisations across health, social care, housing and education with independent budget holder, disability and carer groups to bring about systems change through co-operation and whole system working.

It brings together people who use services and family carers, central and local government, major provider bodies, the third and voluntary sector and other key groups to work together to ensure people live better lives.
