Making it Real for people with sensory impairment

A Making it Real narrative which looks at practical examples and identifies key messages when putting the Making it Real 'I' statements into practice for personalising services for people with sensory impairment.

The 'I' statements are a group of statements that show how personalisation can work, when it is put in to practice well.

This resource describes the policy context in light of the Care Act 2014 and the Accessible Information Standard and offers practical case study examples of how the Making it Real 'I' statements are already being implemented in a range of settings for people with sensory impairments.

Making it real for people with sensory impairment is intended for local authorities, service providers and organisations that already provide specific and general sensory impairment services. It should also be helpful to people with a sensory impairment who want to know what good support might look like.
