    User Led Organisations / Co-production programme reports presented to the Joint Improvement Partnership and Personalisation Programme Board.

    This workstream was established to support the development and engagement of ULOs within each local authority area by 2010. Initial consultancy support was procured to map current progress and identify support needs of ULOs and NCIL were engaged to provide some dedicated support to each authority and ULO in the region to assist them with reaching this important milestone.

    The National Centre for Independent Living (NCIL) has produced a report looking at the evidence on peer support and links to personal budgets. The message from the report is that availability of peer support is essential in the drive to transform adult social care to give service users choice and control in how their individual support needs are met.

    The Department of Health worked with a group of councils, providers, community organisations and people using services to test and refine a method for collating and analysing person-centred information for use in strategic commissioning. We called this process Working together for change.

    A group of disabled people, family carers and people from eight councils have worked together to develop a new way to carry out reviews. We called this approach outcome-focused reviews.
