    This document was developed to help people new to the personalisation agenda in adult social care understand some of the terminology.

    This document builds on the work done to develop role descriptors and learning outcomes for Re-ablement workers at various levels within a service by colleagues at CSED and identifies where, within currently available qualifications on the QCF framework these outcomes are covered.

  • Mental Capacity Act knowledge and competencies

    London Joint improvement Partnership, in response to requests from frontline organisations, have worked with The London Safeguarding Board to develop these frameworks based on work by Bournemouth University[1] to develop the following outline as to what different types of workers should know and be able to do to fulfil their responsibilities when involved in relation to MCA and how to evidence those competencies.

  • Raising awareness about carers

    The Carers Strategy includes a commitment to improve carer awareness amongst health, social care, housing, education and other professionals and to provide the information and services to support carers in their caring role. This section provides examples of different approaches to raising carer awareness and staff training programmes.

    The Workforce Remodelling project was managed through the Workforce Programme Board, but there are strong links to the personalisation agenda. The Programme focused on 3 areas:Workforce Data - targeted support to enable all authorities to upload data onto the National Minimum Data Set (NMDS-SC) for Social Care.

    The Workforce Development & Training Sub Group ran from October 2008 to November 2010. The group was made up of training and development officers from across the East Midlands region and met to discuss issues and share experiences and information on workforce development for Self Directed Support.
