A person centred approach to risk

This document looks at the issue of risk in the lives of people who are supported by human services. It shows how the issue of risk as it has traditionally been approached by services. This can impose barriers to social inclusion and to an interesting and productive life.
The document proposes an alternative person-centred risk process. This begins with a focus on who the person is, their gifts and skills. By offering a positive vision of success, the approach can enable people to manage risk.
