Making it Real for everyone - a personalised response to Winterbourne View
A personalised response to Winterbourne View is a joint project between Think Local Act Personal (TLAP) and the Winterbourne View Joint Improvement Programme. It is funded by the Department of Health with Local Government Association (LGA) and NHS England involvement. The project is supported by the National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTi).
What we are doing
Our aim is to develop a model which councils and providers can use to commission and plan personalised care and support for people with very complex needs and behaviour that challenges.
We will do this by sharing our learning on what works in three areas. Learning will come from providers, commissioners, people with learning disabilities and families. We will review case studies in the form of interviews, diaries, video clips and blogs.
Who we are working with
We are working with providers and commissioners in Ealing, Milton Keynes and Leeds. One of the providers we are working with in Ealing is Certitude.
The former director Bill Mumford has resigned. You can read his statement and the Department of Health statement. We will let you know about future developments for this project as soon as we can. Bill Mumford wrote an earlier blog about his role as head of the WVJIP.
