A 'direct payment' is money that is paid to you (or someone acting on your behalf) on a regular basis by your local council so you can arrange your own support, instead of receiving social care services arranged by the council.
The report and case studies update guidance on effective strategies for increasing take up of direct payments for all groups. The aim of the resources is to help gain a better understanding of the issues and to help communicate these to professionals responsible for developing strategies.
Direct Payments case studies
The case studies are taken from the 'Trust is the key - increasing the take-up of direct payments' Report.
