Our Learning Community seeks to gather and share effective approaches and ideas around building community capacity in ways which link with the Think Local Act Personal Agenda
The Learning Network
We have developed a Learning Network of local authorities and partners, including In Control and the Stamford Forum, which will provide us with detailed information about projects and intiatives. These councils will come together for a series of network events throughout the year. To find out more about our recent events click here. For a list of the local authorities please click here
Be part of the Learning Community
We know there are examples of excellent practice in building community capacity across the country and we are hoping to capture as much of this activity as possible through this website. We are very keen for you to share your ideas and successs with us by uploading case studies and participating in our discussion forums. For more information on how you can contribute, please click here.
Developing evidence of cost-effectiveness
Alongside our work with councils, we are working with the London School of Economics and the Open University to develop an evidence base for the costs and iof investing in community capacity-building inititiatives. We hope that this part of the project will also enable us to develop a simple evaluative tool for local authorities to use in the future to assess the impact of their initiatives.
